BAM

BAM - BitWay Authentication Module

Tired of fight against propietary Windows® authentication scheme? Get a Windows-based solution. Get BAM.

BAM (BitWay Authentication Module) is a replacement for the Windows® GINA logon process, in order to take full advantage about authenticating and authorizing PC users.

Developed to satisfy the needs of unattended, prepaid cybercafes, BAM invokes another authentication module, the BitWay Prepaid Plugin Module, to do the real task of authenticate users over SSL against a central Radius database, in this case managed by the BitWay IP Prepaid® product.

The real benefit comes with the pluggable structure that BAM implements, making easy the replacement of underlying authentication functions depending of the needs. You can write your own authentication method that will be invoked by BAM without lose the control of the security context in which the Windows® logon process nornally runs.
Examples of use are:
- User authenticacion against legacy databases.
- User authentication against UNIX systems.
- SSL Secured, tunneled authentication against authentication servers like Radius, LDAP, POP3, token-based servers, etc.
- Time-based control of PC usage, i.e, by cybercafes in prepaid or post-paid, unattended mode, either wired or wireless.
- Integration with biometric authenticators.

So, its possible to replace the underlying authentication module by simply changing the BAM's configuration.
Also, it's possible to make a selection of the authentication method in the logon process, if there are several authentication methods available, all presented by BAM at logon instance.

Supported operating systems: Win2000, Win XP and Win 2003.
